Zork on the Go - Treo 600

ZorkI totally fulfilled my geek quotient for the day by installing classic infocom text adventures and an interpreter on my cell phone and playing the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy game on my train ride into work this morning. Kronos seems to do a nice job of presenting the game.

I’d like to find more uses for the infrared feature on the Treo. Is there software anywhere that gives you the same functionality as those key chain fobs that’ll turn off any TV?

I’d also like to build something that could trigger el-cheapo digicams at a distance - this would be good for a kite rig. Maybe the range isn’t good enough for this. I’ve read that they’re underpowered.

Plaid | Itsu

I once saw Plaid in Vancouver. They were supposed to play with Squarepusher but Squarepusher never showed up. My flight was the next morning and I didn’t have time to go back to the record store to get a discount on my ticket, so I asked the promoter for an on the spot refund. I didn’t notice that she mistakenly gave me a $100 instead of a $10 until the following day. I wish I got paid to watch Plaid all the time. Video Link

Tampopo

Tanpopo

TAMPOPO is Japanese for dandelion, and in Japan, as is in New Zealand, dandelions occupy a sphere of folklore. A simple action of blowing creates a space amongst the bustle of human doings, it creates a direct relationship with nature, and it acts as a trigger of memories and nostalgic journeys. Perhaps it triggers memories of wishes made and long since forgotten…”

Evil Laughs That People Have Typed at Me Today

  1. ba woo hahahaha
  2. bu-wa-hahahahahahahaha

I’ve alway been partial to “mwuah ha ha haaa” myself but it seems that many favour a ‘b’ to start out.

related: The Aargh Page

Update: Futher discussion with one evil laugher uncovered the fact that their sinister chortling was in immitation of Dogbert. As the other evil laugher in question was showing off a Scott Adams book yesterday, it is logical to assume that this style of evil laughter is particular to the Dilbert universe.

Update II: All paths lead to Wikipedia: Evil laugh (various occurrences in the Dilbert cartoons, usually though not always by Dogbert, and usually spelled “Buwahahah” or some variation.)

@zakpashak I know it's not a juicer, but our Vitamix has changed our eating habits quite a bit. We even mill grain in it.

@bhetherington You don't need a ticket! Just dress in a wolf suit and say you're with the band. If you're denied, just parade around! Fun!

I've been substituting a can of lager for Champagne in a French 75esque concoction. This very well may be my drink for the summer.
